Programmer I

Who we are:   Veramed is a specialist contract research organisation to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, focused on delivering high quality statistics, programming and data management services. We have a unique approach to the industry and have grown from 2 to 350 staff in the last 11 years across the UK, Europe and US.  

Overview of role: This role is for our 12-week Graduate Training Programme, where you will learn and build core skills as a Statistician I. The role of the Statistician I is to provide statistical support to the statistics and programming department across a range of projects, clients and therapeutic areas.

Location: This role can be based in one of our three UK offices  - Twickenham, West London, Alderley Park, Cheshire and Swansea, South Wales.
 

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc or PhD in numerical discipline

• Familiarity with SAS is preferable although not essential

 

General Responsibilities:

Joining Veramed, you will be part of a team of experienced Statisticians and Programmers working on client projects.  Your day to day activities will include:

SAS skills:

• Explore clinical trial data to get a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry’s framework

• Data manipulation and production of clinical trial datasets

• Produce statistical results (tables, listings, figures) to help confirm the safety and/or efficacy of an intervention in a clinical trial

• Maintain proficiency with respect to SAS programming and in applying new and varied methods by attending trainings, seminars, conferences or additional reading


 

Clinical trials set-up and conduct:

• Literature review to understand a disease area of interest

• Review and input in to statistical study documents (protocol, statistical analysis plan)


 

Communication:

• Collaborate with pharmaceutical clients and other Veramed team members

• Work in a multidisciplinary environment and communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians
