Project & Support Engineer
The Role
The role would suit a graduate who is looking for an exciting opportunity in software and hardware engineering and wants to join a great team in a fast-growing technology company.
As a Project & Support Engineer you would be involved in the whole life cycle of projects, from the initial design stage right through to installation, commissioning and support.
Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Configuring, tuning and testing the world-leading pipeline leak detection and simulation software for operational gas and liquid pipelines
- Carrying out detailed data analysis of pipeline operations to optimize system performance
- Supporting customers in different countries for their application software
- Preparing progress reports and attending project meetings
- Performing Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
- Installing and commissioning application software at customer sites in different countries
- Providing training to customer’s personnel
- Preparing project related documentation such as system operating and maintenance manuals
- Conducting on-site service visits
- Evaluating and improving the performance of the installed software to ensure the live systems are working according to the highest standards
Key Skills/Experience
- Bachelor or higher degree in engineering or physics
- Excellent computer skills, familiar with VB.NET, C# or C++
- Good knowledge of computer networking using DCOM or OPC
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience or a good understanding of scripting/coding, ideally familiar with MatLab
- Experience of pipeline/process simulation, hydraulic analysis, pipeline engineering or instrumentation/control systems would be an advantage but not required
