SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant Full Time

An independent specialist day school in Crosby (Merseyside) are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term, full time basis from January 2024.

Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with a specialist Autism & SEMH school, based in Crosby, Liverpool. The school delivers a differentiated curriculum for pupils aged 7 – 16 years.

We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) who is interested in a career in education and youth work to become an integral part of a young person’s learning and personal development.  

As a SEN Teaching Assistant  you will work alongside a specialist team of teachers, care staff and support assistants to support and deliver a programme of learning that is tailored to meet the specific needs of each pupil. A key aspect of working in this role is having the ability to identify the individual needs of pupils and being able to respond to them.

As part of the role you will be responsible for creating a safe learning environment and promoting positive behaviour for the pupils  you will be supporting.  You will be part of a key team around specific pupils in order to maintain consistent support, communication and updated support plans. 

Experience of working with young people aged 7-16 in either a school or community setting is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside specialist teachers and learn from an inspiration school team.

 

Specific role description

· 1:1 Teaching Assistant Support 

· Minimum Rate-of-pay: £90 per-day

· Role Type: Long-Term, Full time

· Start Date: 8/01/2024 

· Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

· Psychology

· Education Studies

· Sports Sciences

· Social Care

· Youth Work

Other training that would help this role would be PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, and/or Team Teach - however this is not essential as you will have access to a range of training if you are successful for this role.
