Veterinary Surgeon

Additional vet wanted to join Durham Mixed Practice

Friendly inclusive practice with great support. You will be encouraged to develop all aspects of practice and support is always available. The split of the practice is 70% small animal and 30% large animal (bovine, sheep, equine, goat and occasional exotic)

The standard working week is four days. Two days 08.30 to 19.00, one day 08.30 to 17.00 and one day 08.30 to 18.00. Each day has a one hour protected lunch break. On call rota is one weekend on first in six (Saturday 08.30 to Monday)and one weekend on second in six (Friday night on call and Saturday morning surgery then available in case the on call vet requires assistance) Lunch is provided for all working a Saturday surgery. Four weekday nights in six weeks. All on call has an RVN on call with you. A Friday off following the weekend on call. TOIL or paid time for missed lunch or if delayed finish on days you are not on call. Out of hours phones are covered by a senior vet and back up both for advice and physical is always available 24/7.

Two vet GDP advisor's in practice

24 days holiday plus time off for any bank holidays worked and one week off at either Christmas or New Year not deducted from holiday total. Quarterly social quiz meal and a drink paid for by bosses. Paid CPD allowance topic dictated by yourself.

Starting package valued from £36 000 including vehicle for on call and accommodation.
