Devops Engineer

We are looking to expand our team with a devops engineer with passion for audio and music, and up to 3 years of experience. The team maintains the source code for the main tools used by the R&D team following modern practices and experiments with new tools and technologies to use internally. There is plenty of room to grow technically, as well as to dedicate some time to research. Education: BSc / MSc in a relevant field: Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, Acoustics, Physics, Maths, etc…

Responsibilities:  

We are looking for a devops engineer, ideally with some working knowledge on containerization, backend technologies and / or linux management, to help us maintain the tools used by the R&D team to design and build the next generation of loudspeakers.

You would be a part of a small team of engineers with skills on different areas:

  • Embedded: dsp and applications to power our active speakers [C++, OOD]
  • Desktop: scientific applications to assist loudspeaker design [Java, Matlab, OOD]
  • Devops: continuous integration and deployment of our code [python3, Jenkins, redmine, svn, etc].


Key requirements:

  • Linux system management.
  • Experience writing scripts and object orientated code on Python 3.
  • Ninja-level command line skills with at least one of Bash / batch / powershell.
  • Proactive attitude to learn things out of your comfort zone.
  • Ideally, some devops experience, either on a professional environment or tinkering on your own time. We use tools like Jenkins, redmine, docker, etc.

 

Extra points for any of the following:

  • Awareness of object orientated design principles applied to C++ / Java / Matlab.
  • Personal interest in using computers creatively, i.e. to create or record music or video.
  • Having worked with (or created!) audio devices and / or systems.
  • You know your way with Python SciPy / NumPy libraries, Matlab or Octave.
  • Android / iPhone development (either professionally or as a hobby).
  • Digital Signal Processing: practical knowledge of basic processing techniques and principles.
  • Embedded: experience writing and debugging C/C++ code for DSP/MCU chips.
  • Understanding of mathematics and/or physics at BSc / MSc level.
