EAL Teacher - International Summer School

Felsted is a leading day and boarding independent school based in a stunning village campus in North Essex. Founded in 1564 by Richard Lord Riche, who had been a Lord Chancellor under King Edward VI.

We celebrated our 450th anniversary in 2014, one of only a handful of Schools in the country that have claimed this historic milestone. We employ more than 160 teachers and 440 operational staff in a community orientated environment, ensuring our pupils receive the very best in learning and co-curricular activities. Felsted today provides an exceptional holistic education to approximately 1100 students aged four to eighteen.

We are excited to be running our tenth on-site Summer School in 2024. Operating during the School Summer Holidays for six weeks, the programme offers students a wide range of academic, sporting and cultural opportunities for c500 students aged 8-17 from every corner of the world. To run our successful and well-established programme, we need creative, enthusiastic and well qualified staff to work with us.

We are seeking suitably qualified EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teachers to work at our International Summer School in 2024 within both our junior campus (students aged 8-11) and our senior campus (students aged between 12-17). The role involves planning and delivering a suitable English Language programme in conjunction with Head Teachers and the Academic Manager to the students to help them become confident English speakers. The successful candidate will hold a CELTA (or equivalent) qualification and will be required to complete reports on the students and conduct project classes once a week.

This is a fixed-term role; the Junior Summer School runs between 7th July and 4th August and the Senior Summer School runs from 7th July and 18th August 2024 with inductions being held from 4th to 6th July. The role may be residential or non residential. It will involve some boarding duties, as well as involvement in excursions and social activities as required.
