Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Placement

Capabilities
Some projects may occasionally require work to be undertaken out side of normal working hours in order to meet deadlines, and as such, you must be willing to commit to the client demands when required.
Key Responsibilities
• Reporting and Assisting managing a broad range of projects, to achieve the best value for the client
• Assisting in Cost Planning
• Collation of cost data for benchmarking purposes
• Help to manage / mentor junior staff
• Service Delivery
• Assisting in Pre contract commercial management including procurement strategies, cost estimates for authorisation process, prepare tender documents, assessing tender returns, etc
• Assisting in Financial control of projects through to completion
• Assisting in Post contract commercial management and contract administration
• To create a team environment in which everyone is committed to producing a quality outcome
• To gain the confidence of the client and become the focal point for communication
• To liaise with other members of the team to ensure consistency of service delivery and to identify opportunities for developing both the quality and profitability of the service
• To ensure that control procedures are in place and adhered to in all areas of the business
• To ensure that the Director has qualified information on the progress of each project on a regular basis.

Preferable Experience:
• Experience preferable of JCT and other standard forms of contract
• Working in another QS firm or equivalent service provider
Qualifications:
• BSc (Hons) with appropriate professional qualifications. Member of RICs.
Knowledge:
• A depth of knowledge of different construction processes and forms of procurement
• A forward-thinking approach to the management of clients and projects
• Commercially aware and financially astute.
General
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures including attendance at meetings, preparation of reports and any other duties as required
