Technical Support Assistant - Pensions and Bonds - Transact

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior role on the Technical team! Our Technical team provides support for financial advisers with technical queries in relation to pensions, bonds, ISAs and GIAs.  They also provide general technical support for Client Operations and to a variety of other departments across the business. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about learning and comfortable working with numbers.

The Role

Providing technical assistance to members of the Technical Services Team.  This will include support relating to the operation of PAYE for Transact pension schemes, calculating gains for our onshore and offshore bond wrappers and the checking of new trust applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with queries in relation to the client PAYE accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with other PAYE processes to ensure that client PAYE records and tax codes are maintained accurately.
  • Providing support for the calculation of chargeable gains for the onshore and offshore bond.
  • Providing support to produce chargeable event certificates for the onshore and offshore bond.
  • Checking new trust applications to make sure the documentation is correct, including details of the trust registration service.
  • Supporting colleagues by providing management information as required.
  • Providing support with other technical processes as required such as testing of internal systems and process improvement.
     

Person Specification

For this role you will need to have a minimum of a years’ experience working in Financial Services. You should have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Excel. You must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Any financial services qualifications will be beneficial as would previous experience working on PAYE/pensions, investment bonds and trusts. You should be willing and able to undertake further qualifications to expand your technical knowledge base as required.

The role is based in our central London office, working a minimum of two days a week in the office and three days a week from home.
