Graduate Technical Officer

Based within the English Heritage grounds of Wrest Park in Silsoe, Bedfordshire, CDS is the UK's largest cemetery and crematorium design and development company with a current project portfolio value of £50 million.

The CDS Group Ltd. are looking for a highly motivated graduate with a genuine passion for the environment, site analysis, and report writing to undertake feasibility work for new and existing sites.

This role offers work experience and personal development within the Town Planning and Project Management Team as well as being out on site with the Environmental Team, delivering environmental assessments and reports for consultation and submission to the Environment Agency.

This will allow the successful candidate to explore different areas of the business.

The CDS Group are industry leaders in Crematoria and Cemetery development for the UK, specialising in Planning, Design, and the Environment. The projects we undertake are challenging, varied and are for both public and private sector clients.

The degree level requirement is a 2:1 or above.

A full UK driving license is required and attendance to site visits is mandatory.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-               Assist with the planning team with planning applications.

-               Submit pre-applications and communicate the feedback to the planning team.

-               Ensure projects are delivered on time with the team through management of planning project trackers and schedules.

-               Assist the environmental team with site works for new cemetery developments and contamination assessments.

-               Assist the environmental team with report writing.

-               Liaise with external consultants on planning projects.

-               Draft planning policy documents and feasibility reports for new and existing projects.

-               Assist with new site acquisition for clients.
