Computer Numerical Controls Technical Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Estimator to join our team. As a CNC Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost and time required for CNC machining projects. Your expertise in analysing drawings, understanding manufacturing processes, and evaluating material requirements will be crucial in providing accurate estimates to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with both internal teams and external clients.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse technical drawings specifications, and other technical documents to understand the scope of CNC machining projects.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Production teams to determine the most efficient manufacturing processes and material requirements.
  • Utilize software and tools to generate accurate cost and time estimates for CNC machining projects.
  • Consider factors such as material costs, machine time, labour costs, and overhead expenses when preparing estimates.
  • Consult with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information for materials and services.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of cost and time estimates for future reference and analysis.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to provide accurate and timely estimates to customers.
  • Review and revise estimates as necessary based on changes in project scope or specifications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in CNC machining technology, and pricing fluctuations to ensure accurate estimations.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSESSENTIAL

  • In-depth knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to perform complex calculations.

DESIRABLE

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Cad/Cam and Programming certification or/both experience
  • Understanding of AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of lean tools and practical experience of their use
