Operator Maintainer

Job Purpose:  

This role is key to the overall success of our operation.  Working as a key member of the operations team, operator maintainers are responsible for controlling the machinery whilst prioritising health, safety and efficiency under the guidance and instructions from team leaders. 

Role duties:

• To carry out rounds of the plant and equipment and report all defects.
• To train as the Assistant Team Leader and carry out their duties in their absence.
• Be authorised to accept Permits to Work.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical isolations under the direction of the Team Leader.
• Carry out checks of safety equipment.
• Carry out maintenance and repair work in accordance with risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensure a neat and orderly work area to promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain proper storage area for all equipment and products.
• Maintain and wear statutory PPE issued and report defects to the site management team as required.
• Review and suggest improvements to standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and skills (Evidenced from CV):

1. Previous operations experience in a steam or gas plant
2. A strong appreciation and understanding of a safe working environment, hazard awareness and a compliant attitude
3. Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
4. Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as in a team environment
5. Knowledge of Permit to Work and Lock Out Tag Out systems
6. Carried out mechanical/electrical maintenance
