The company has a long-standing reputation in the construction and the M&E services industry. In recent years, the company has expanded their service to include flood protection advice and renovations to existing and new properties.

Job Description

We are in search of a capable individual to lead the design and development of our upcoming flood barrier system. As part of your role, you will use 3D CAD tools to design and model the product, ensuring precision and functionality. Additionally, you will be responsible for devising an effective manufacturing arrangement and procedures to facilitate mass production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough research on industry-leading products and standards
  • Developing comprehensive technical plans and designs
  • Creating detailed CAD models and drawings to guide production
  • Establishing manufacturing processes optimised for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Providing regular reports and collaborating closely with the management team.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria

  • BEng (Hons) Degree with an award classification of a minimum (H2.2) in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or similar
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Northern Ireland at time of application; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland you must upload a copy of it with your application.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience & knowledge of product design.
  • Experience & knowledge manufacturing process design and evaluation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of material handling and planning.
  • Ability to work independently on specified tasks.
  • Strong communication skills.
