The Role

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will provide engineering design solutions and life engineering support to JFD product range. Working alongside our Senior Engineers and Team lead, you will support and drive new product designs to meet client requirements and support existing client’s requests to upgrade or change equipment in the field.

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting engineering design input to new products and providing support to the existing product range by answering queries and providing engineering solutions
  • Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and creating part numbers and bill of materials.
  • Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certifications, and reports
  •  Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation
  • Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
  •  Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes
  • Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required.
  • Compliance with internal and external standards & regulations. 

What we are looking for

We are seeking individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for collaboration and innovation. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 2:2 or above in a Mechanical Engineering Degree 
  •  Experience in modelling, drafting in SolidWorks, and previous product design experience would be advantageous.
  •  Exceptional interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Any previous diving or subsea equipment design experience would be advantageous but not essential.
