The Role

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will provide engineering design solutions and life engineering support to JFD product range. Working alongside our Senior Engineers and Team lead, you will support and drive new product designs to meet client requirements and support existing client’s requests to upgrade or change equipment in the field. 

 

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Supporting software engineering input to the existing product range as well as new systems and products
  •  Support software management of change for new and existing legacy codebase.
  • Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, test plans, reports and manuals.
  •  Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes
  •  Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required.
  • Compliance to internal and external standards and regulations.

What we are looking for

We are seeking individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for collaboration and innovation. Here’s what we’re looking for:  

  •  2:2 or above in a Computer Science/ Software Degree / Electrical or Electronic Degree or equivalent.
  •  Knowledge and practice of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience in embedded software (MPLAB, ST32) development, test and debugging and high-level development languages – preferably one or more of C# and C++, and C. 
  •  Exceptional interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. 
  • Any previous knowledge of software management systems, user interface design and source code version control systems (git) would be advantageous.
