Talent Investor Analyst

As an intern in the Paris team, you will be responsible for driving investments into, and maximising outcomes for, exceptional individuals and the companies they build at EF.

What you'll do

1. Own the candidate's journey: Our first customers are our candidates and founders, and we want to make sure they have a memorable experience at EF. You will be responsible for ensuring the process runs smoothly for candidates, from the moment they apply until they sign their offer to join our next cohort.

2. Contribute to the development, and execution of, a thesis on where and how to find non-obviously exceptional founder talent:  At EF we focus on people with exceptional talent who are too early in their careers to have generated achievements that would make them obviously exceptional founders. This requires you to think, and act, creatively when it comes to finding these people.  You will contribute to the development and testing of hypotheses about where and how these people aggregate. This will involve identifying particular communities or institutions which are talent-dense (we call these “talent clusters”) and/or potential signals of exceptionalism (e.g. looking for winners of interesting prizes or scholarships).

3. Support the team to build relationships with key nodes, who can help you navigate talent clusters: At EF, we seek to build a deep understanding of a small number of dense talent clusters. To do this, we need to build enduring relationships with key nodes within these clusters, such as Computer Science Professors, or the leaders of interesting societies. You’ll be responsible for identifying these nodes, and supporting your team to build relationships with them.

4. Deliver world-class events: We regularly run events with EF speakers and external stakeholders, and you will be responsible for ensuring the event runs smoothly. You will get the opportunity to sit in on these events and learn from inspiring entrepreneurs (we have organised hackathons with tech leaders such as Meta or Hugging Face for example).

Who you are

You should:

  • Have a strong academic record
  • Have a deep interest for technology, startups and venture capital
  • Be intellectually curious
  • Have already interned at a top tier company or startup
  • Be French native and be fluent in English (C1/C2 Level)
  • Have outstanding organizational skills

You should also:

  • Excel with process and people, be strategic but enjoy getting your hands dirty and want a fast paced role
  • Be an expert problem solver who thinks on their feet
  • Have high EQ and enjoy working with people
  • Have a strong growth mindset and actively seek ownership
  • Be a strong communicator
  • Be very comfortable with managing competing priorities

About Entrepreneur First

At Entrepreneur First, we believe that a small number of exceptional people will have an extraordinary impact by creating the technology companies which shape the future in ways we cannot yet imagine. We also believe that for many of these individuals, entrepreneurship is not an obvious or entirely legible career path.

We exist to identify, and amplify the impact of, these individuals. We do this via our unique approach to company creation, which sees us identify and work with outliers before they even know they’re outliers, right through to the day they prove it. We call this Talent Investing.

The startups cofounded on our programs are now worth over $10B, and include Tractable, Magic Pony Technology, Cleo, La Vie, Aztec, Sonantic, and many more.

EF is funded and backed by some of the world's best founders and investors, including Patrick and John Collison (Stripe), Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Tom Blomfield (GoCardless and Monzo) and Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind). Having raised our Series C round of investment at the end of 2021, we are well-capitalised out to 2026 and have ambitious plans to further scale our impact over the coming years.
