Assure SAF Registry Product Manager

Position Summary: 

This role will play a crucial role in owning the functionality and promoting the Assure SAF Registry, 4AIR’s full-service sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) registry. The primary responsibility will be to manage the roll out and development of the technology platform, aligning with key customer reporting and regulatory needs. Additionally, to drive platform adoption by building and maintaining strong client relationships and performing demos and pilots of Assure. This role will demonstrate the effectiveness of Assure to prospects, validate that Assure functions as designed, and collaborates with marketing, IT, and operations teams. 

Location:

Remote, USA or UK – with potential office space in Cleveland, New York City, Scottsdale, and London. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Manage the development and roll out of key software technology around the documentation and tracking of sustainable fuels.
  2. Identify current and prospective client needs or features needed to address regulatory changes to IT and operations team and design how those needs can be implemented in the platform. 
  3. Manage internal and external project resources to ensure successful roll out and ongoing updates to the platform, including IT, operations, and marketing resources.
  4. Assist clients in the completion of registration forms and documentation.
  5. Perform user experience testing through various test accounts as part of ongoing software development.
  6. Maintain intimate understanding of the platform and its functionality. 
  7. Assist new and existing customers through pilot programs to educate them on how to use the platform.
  8. Assist in researching and identifying potential clients across the renewable fuel and aviation industry who would benefit from our services and develop a targeted list of leads and organizations to approach.
  9. Interact with renewable fuel and aviation professionals to educate and demonstrate the significance of the software product. 
  10. Create and execute effective partner and business development strategies, including attending industry events and conferences.
  11. Initiate contact with potential clients, understand their needs and requirements, and demonstrate how our services can address their sustainability goals and regulatory compliance needs.
  12. Prepare tailored proposals, platform demos, and presentations to showcase the value proposition of our services, including pricing structures and benefits analysis.
  13. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction with our services, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional 4AIR services. 
  14. Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes related to sustainable fuels and incorporate this knowledge into your sales strategies.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Key Skills and Competencies: 

  • Expertise within aviation or the renewable fuels industry and understanding of sustainable fuels. 
  • Knowledge of existing fuel supply chains and fuel accounting procedures, particularly for fuels with sustainable attributes or for regulatory/tax reporting purposes.
  • Strong knowledge about selling software or services into aviation and how potential customers can adopt and implement such services.
  • Understand how various regulatory reporting and emissions accounting schemes will impact different stakeholders.
  • Communication and presentation skills necessary to participate on panels and present at conferences. 

Functional Skills: 

  • Design custom sales presentations and perform live demonstration of software-based products and tailoring the demonstration to the use case of the potential customer. 
  • Self-motivation and ability to meet deadlines, must be comfortable prioritizing tasks, demonstrate flexibility, display a strong work ethic, fanatical attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn and critically apply knowledge to improve programs and educate peers.
  • Ability to accept feedback and work collaboratively as part of a remote team to develop and apply skills in a unique setting.
  • Apply critical thinking skills when understanding a potential customer’s challenges and how a 4AIR product could solve these challenges. 
  • Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, and other departments.
  • Thoughtful application of recordkeeping and documentation principles in an organized manner. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Sales knowledge or project management experience with selling in the fuels business is strongly preferred. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (VBA not required).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while working remotely. 
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with team and customers. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Additional Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor or Masters in business, marketing, IT, engineering, or related fields 
  • Working knowledge of renewable fuel and/or aviation industry, and the related products. 
  • Proven track record of successful B2B sales in renewable fuels, fuels, airline, or related aviation industry.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable aviation fuel and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with European emission reporting systems.
  • Experience with aviation fuel or oil and gas compliance. 
  • Experience in the regulatory compliance field, preferably from a corporate entity required to comply with a GHG, EPA, emissions or other sustainability scheme.
