Commercial Paralegal (York)

The role:

An excellent opportunity for a Paralegal has arisen within our commercial team in York.  You will be working closely with experienced Solicitors and receive valuable training to develop your knowledge and skills in a range of commercial services.  You will assist the York team in developing local links and serving our clients to the highest standards. 

 

Alongside being an excellent team player, the most important skills you will need for this role is to be enthusiastic, want to learn and be determined to progress your legal career in commercial fields of law.  Successful candidates who exhibit the necessary drive, skill and determination will be provided the opportunity to progress onto a training contract.  

 

Duties will be varied, but will include:

  • Undertaking office administration duties, including photocopying, scanning, dealing with outgoing post and preparing contracts for services. 
  • Providing high quality support to qualified fee earners in a range of legal services, including Commercial Property, Company Commercial and Private Client 
  • Completing file-opening/closing, and other compliance routines
  • Liaising with clients and third parties both face to face and on the telephone 
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Conducting research and collating information
  • Scheduling deeds 
  • Using our bespoke IT systems to deal with client matters and to record your activities

 

The successful candidate: 

  • Must have an LLB or equivalent degree and a genuine interest in a legal career   
  • IT competent
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) 
  • Self-motivated, professional, and commercially aware     
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Flexible ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Able to commute to our York office (Monks Cross)
