Graduate KQ Liverpool Skills Project Coordinator

Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) is a globally-recognised innovation district located in Liverpool City Centre. 

KQ Liverpool is seeking to appoint an Skills Project Coordinator to join the KQ Liverpool Team, reporting to the Assistant CEO, KQ Liverpool. 

This is an exciting time to join KQ Liverpool and we're looking for a Skills Project Coordinator to help support the future growth of the innovation district and the delivery of our skills and outreach programmes. 

Led by the KQ Liverpool CEO, the KQ Liverpool team works to bring together local authorities, universities, businesses and health providers to work with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.

JOB ROLE: 

● Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. 

● Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategic plans for investment zone projects based within KQ Liverpool including skills programmes and innovation services. 

● Conduct research and analysis to assess market demand, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform project delivery. 

● Coordinate the preparation of project proposals, feasibility studies, and business plans for new projects. 

● Communicate project status updates, progress reports, and key milestones to project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management. 

● Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote KQ Liverpool projects through various channels, including events, presentations, and marketing materials. 

● Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate project status, achievements, and impact to senior management and other external stakeholders. 

● Organise and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and brainstorming sessions, documenting meeting minutes, action items, and decisions. 

● Track project expenses, budgets, and resources, and assist in the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. 

● Maintain project documentation and files, ensuring all project-related materials are organised, up-to-date, and easily accessible. 

● Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and escalate critical issues to project managers and senior leadership as needed. 

● Support the evaluation and assessment of project outcomes, gather feedback from stakeholders, and identify lessons learned for future projects. 

● Provide administrative support to the Assistant CEO including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing correspondence. 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL 

Qualifications and Knowledge 

Knowledge of:  

○ Economic growth. 

○ The Liverpool City and City Region economy. 

○ Graduate qualification and/or equivalent experience. 

 

Experience:

○ Experience of researching a subject matter in breadth and depth. 

○ Willingness to design and support the delivery of projects, with confidence to take ownership for the formulation and delivery. ○ Using data and evidence to aid decision making. 

○ Preparing short and log written reports, including recommendations, for a diverse range of topics. 

 

Skills and Competencies :

○ Ability to understand new information quickly and accurately. 

○ Problem solving and analytical skills. 

○ Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing and briefings. 

○ A self-starter who can work on their own initiative and as part of a small team. 

○ Commitment to seeing tasks through from start to completion. DESIRABLE 

 

Qualifications and Knowledge :

○ Local, national and international developments in innovation and sector development. 

○ Funding opportunities aligned to regional and national strategic priorities. An understanding of public funding and related regulations/legislation. 

○ Ability to translate national and international policies and strategies into a regional and local context. ○ Knowledge of or experience of the KQ Liverpool and Liverpool City Region innovation ecosystem.
