Product Manager or Applications Specialist
Our parent company (Beijing SDL Technology Ltd https://www.chsdl.com) is a major supplier of environmental monitoring solutions in China and are increasingly making use of mass spectrometry from Kore. SDL has an immediate need for a person to manage the communication between Kore and SDL concerning all technical matters relating to mass spectrometry. This person would be employed by SDL in Beijing as a Product Manager or Applications Specialist, but would have close and regular contact with Kore Technology. At the beginning we would expect that they would spend several months with Kore in the UK becoming familiar with all aspects of Kore's mass spectrometry products. They would then move to Beijing to become the local "expert", providing technical assistance to the SDL sales team and to the technical support staff. They would monitor mass spectrometry projects at SDL and have regular video meetings with Kore staff to give feedback on progress. Such discussions could also deal with new any new technical difficulties and assess the feasibility of any new applications.
- Excellent English, good enough to hold a complex technical discussion over a video link.
- Ability to communicate with our Chinese colleagues
- Degree, or Masters level qualification in engineering, physics, or a related technical/mathematical subject.
- An interest and enthusiasm to work with a small company, learning about new fields of knowledge for application in the real world.
This post might suit a Chinese national who has spent several years working in the UK or another English speaking country using English as their first language, but is now ready to return to China. The new role may require regular visits to Kore in the UK in addition to the initial training period. Success in building the mass spectrometry business in China would lead to a senior role within SDL.
