The Healthcare Global Modelling Unit (GMU) is a large team of specialists/analysts that support client facing market research teams, providing methodological advice, statistical modelling and data science techniques. 


We are one of the largest analytics teams at Ipsos and we have a global presence with analysts in five countries, supporting Ipsos’s Healthcare teams around the world.

 

The Role

As a Graduate Data Scientist, you’ll be assisting senior members of the Data Science team in the UK and Malaysia and gaining exposure to and experience in a great number of analytical techniques.
 

Some of your core responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning and restructuring data sets.
  • Learning a wide range of statistical analysis techniques to support the team on the full range of GMU solutions.
  • Showing willingness to lend a hand/ take a proactive team approach to help others.
  • Plan time well and carry out tasks to an expected standard.
  • Become knowledgeable about the market research industry, client sectors and the Ipsos analytical offer.

Additionally your day to day focus with either be:

  • Text Analytics and gaining familiarity with Python and Natural Language Processing libraries.

OR

  • Driver modelling and working with syndicated patient data.

About You

To be successful you’ll need to be comfortable working with data and not afraid of computer code or learning new technologies. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Some experience of Excel and/or the ability to use other statistical software
  • Good understanding of basic statistics and data science techniques
  • Passion for new technologies
  • Good organization, communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be creative, curious and innovative
  • An interest in reading and working with text data

Other Desirable skills

  • Experience of programming language, especially Python
  • Experience of working in a cloud environment
  • Experience working with databases (in particular SQL or BigQuery)
  • Experience of machine learning models
  • Experience working with medical datasets or healthcare knowledge

Those who are successful at the application stage will be progressed to a virtual interview. The final stage will be an assessment centre held at our Thomas More Square Office (London) in May.
