Graduate Electrical Design Engineer

The Programme

 

The 2-year structured graduate programme will offer you the opportunity of 9 months rotational placements, relevant to your role, helping you better understand the role of UK Power Networks and its directorates. The second year will see you placed in your first supported role. Working towards the roles and responsibilities outline below, you will start contributing to your team's success and meeting objectives. Throughout the programme you will develop the knowledge, competencies and leadership skills through embedded training sessions to help you excel at UK Power Networks, along with mentorship from a senior leader.

 

The Job

 

Capital Programme is responsible to the delivery of large scale, high value projects for UK Power Networks. You will work across an Assets and Connections Portfolio and be involved with producing high quality electrical designs to an agreed scope and within UK Power Networks and CDM standards. You will work as part of a diverse team, providing design technical excellence.

 

Key responsibilities of an Electrical Design Engineer

 

  • Produce compliant Electrical Designs, ensuring the design eliminates any hazards which may give rise to risks; and reduce risks from any remaining hazards
  • Contribute to the production of technical, commercial and contractual documents for procurement of engineering products
  • Prepare concept and developed design, from specifications and drawings within defined periods.
  • Provide an excellent service to the customer and work across teams to ensure a smooth process from initial enquiry through to final energisation and project closure.

 

 

What you'll need:

 

  • You will have achieved or be on target to achieve a minimum of an Honours bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
