IT Officer (Infrastructure)

IT Officer (Infrastructure) – Post Ref: CC923
Salary: Scale PO1-4, SCP 27-30, £35,745 - £38,223 per annum, 37 hours per week, Permanent

The ICT Infrastructure teams support the core technology systems that enables the Council to operate.  We support Oracle database systems, Windows, M365, Solaris and Linux servers, Microsoft SQL, the network, the Active Directory infrastructure, email, backup, and cyber security.    

We have a vacancy for a proficient and reliable person to join our team of ICT Officers supporting the Council’s infrastructure.

The successful candidate will support the development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Council-wide IT infrastructure. There may be some support for operational activities on an as required basis. The successful candidate will be part of an IT team providing an effective, responsive and customer focused ICT Service.

Please note all of the availability and cover requirements outlined in the circumstances paragraph on the job profile applicable to this post. Whilst this post is not required to work shifts on a regular basis there may be a requirement to cover for absences or planned and unplanned overtime.

Major technology provider certification or equivalent experience is an essential requirement for this post.

The ideal candidate will have experience of Oracle databases, Oracle SQL and Unix servers. Additional knowledge of Windows servers would also be desirable, knowledge of the principles of backup policy, awareness of cyber risks and mitigations, but above all, will have a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to learn.
