Junior CAD Operator/Designer

Some experience or education in using a 3D CAD package (preferably - but not limited to AutoCAD Inventor) is essential when applying for this role - equal to this in our search for new employees is a candidate who; shows a willingness to learn new skills; contributes and will speak up if they see areas for improvement within our organisation; wants ownership of their involvement in a project and will be excited to see products through from design stage to customer handover. We have a history for supplying quality products followed by the customer service to back them up in all areas in which we operate. 

We don't expect you the have experience with all of the different materials, processes and areas of design that we are involved in, but we are looking for people that will take the chance to gain knowledge and experience when the opportunity arises.

As a start the successful candidate will oversee the processing and design updates of a number of our products; ensuring the computer models are correct; processing component parts for manufacture; and issuing the correct drawings to the assembly floor. They will also take charge of a library of standard parts – keeping manufacturing drawing and models up to date; ensuring that parts are output for manufacturing in a timely manner to keep stock at appropriate levels. Responsibility for these parts will rest with you from design through manufacture and stocking, to installation and usage in the final product - so you will get to see your parts on the screen, in reality and in use.

This is a full-time permanent position located at our office just North of York, 33 days paid holiday per year including bank holidays, pay is subject to ongoing review.
