Trainee Legal Drafter

8PP Barrister and Associates is a modern alternative to the traditional chambers model that is used by those in practice at the self-employed bar. 8PP are instructed by firms of solicitors to deal with a wide variety of tasks traditionally dealt with by the self-employed bar including advising on liability and quantum, drafting pleadings, and providing representation in civil proceedings being heard throughout the courts of England and Wales.

We are seeking trainee legal drafters to join our expanding team. 

 

Successful candidates will be given a six-month paid training placement within our Training Academy, gaining work experience with technical training provided to prepare you for your career with us.  Following successful completion of the training programme you will graduate into a permanent role with us as Junior Legal Drafter.   

Main tasks and responsibilities.

- Complete 6-month Training programme to prepare for role in the team – assessed by way of technical competencies 

- Preparation of written advices in relation to matters such as liability, quantum, and evidence

- Preparation of documents to include pleadings, applications, and witness statements

- Dealing with correspondence and telephone calls

- Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011 and/or the Bar Standards Board Handbook 

Education and Experience:

• 2.2 achieved 

LLB, BTC or LPC desirable but not essential.
