Post the mergers and acquisition of Justis Publishing and Fastcase in 2019/2023 respectively vLex continues to expand, and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team with a particular focus on working with the US based editorial team members.
The Position - We are looking for high achievers with a passion for legal content to join our rapidly expanding editorial team. You will need to be a driven and competitive self-starter, an innovative and exceptional communicator, and hold a solid academic record and true desire to succeed in the legal publishing industry. Working remotely, you will report directly to the Head of Editorial (US) and form part of our UK based team supporting the US team. You will be responsible for ingesting primary sources of law from across common law jurisdictions such as the consolidation of legislation from the US Federal and State jurisdictions. This work will involve identifying changes made by sessional legislation, implementing these on our existing data set and analyzing statutory changes and their effective dates so that these changes and dates are reflected accurately in the consolidated statutes. Full training will be provided and you will work alongside a highly experienced and skilled team who will collobrate with you in your work. Whilst you will be working primarily within the UTC time zone, you will be expected to join a weekly editorial call on EST.
Key Skills:
A Degree in Law;
Familiarity with primary and secondary sources of Law;
Experience with legal research using hard and electronic sources.
Desired skills and experience:
Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate a familiarity with the Federal and State legal system of the United States;
Existing editorial experience;
Experience of tracking changes to primary Statute law and Regulations.
