People Assistant
Job Summary
In this role you will be supporting the People and Culture department in all aspects throughout the entire employee journey. This will include recruitment, onboarding,retention,development and separation. You will learn from on the job training and develop through professional learning opportunities with the CIPD.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with recruitment writing job adverts and advertising such as reviewing CVs, conducting telephone screenings and scheduling interviews, following up with candidates. Ensuring all UK legislation is followed when recruiting.
- Ensuring a positive candidate experience by effective communication with all candidates throughout the process.
- Organising and attending recruitment fairs.
- Support onboarding, and offboarding processes of new starters and existing staff.
- Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the People & Culture department.
- Supporting with payroll administration and preparation
- Work effectively with the HR software platform CERMs and Access People.
- Supporting HR-related training programs, workshops and webinars.
- Maintain the departmental email account, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support absence management, processing employee return to work forms, and assist with payroll processing and documentation.
- Process termination documentation of leavers
- Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR department
Skills and Qualifications
- A graduate with a degree or professional work experience.
- Knowledge of employee practices and functions if preferred but not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer literacy.
- A keen attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, this is an essential requirement.
