About the role

 

We are looking for a strong, passionate Senior Systems Developer, which will be key recruitment into our Systems Development Team.

Your ‘day to day’ will be varied and diverse. You will be given every opportunity to take full ownership of your role and support your Lead Developer in developing high performance and quality software systems.

The team require your expertise. The goal of your role is to create value by delivering scalable and stable software solutions. You will be passionate about software development and be a real problem solver.  No challenge will be too great for you. You will use your wealth of experience and expertise to take on a set of business and customer requirements and lead your small team through refinement, design, development, test, and delivery stages.

You will take ownership and responsibility in planning and managing your teams work, be heavily involved at the innovation and prototyping stages and support and mentor members of your team to deliver value and quality for our customers.

We work using an Agile prioritisation methodology that places that customer value at the forefront of every decision we make. You will work with your team to align to that value and truly “delight” our customers.

You will be a key decision maker in the team and hold yourself and your teammates accountable and responsible for all software development decisions, setting quality standards that show your team what good looks like, and how it can be achieved.

You will be joining a highly capable and enthusiastic team working with an exciting array of technologies in a very friendly environment. We are embarking on a journey to re-platform our entire software estate, which will give you the opportunity to solve unique, large-scale technical problems

What we are looking for:
 

  • We’re primarily building software in C# and Javascript, however we would love to hear from experienced developers in other modern languages
  • Competent at using source control (Git, TFS)
  • Experience of working with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience of using CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GO CD)
  • Extensive experience of Test Driven Development
  • Understanding and experience of Databases (SQL Server, Dynamo, Mongo)
  • Understanding of and experience in implementing technical design patterns and architectural principals
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work within a team environment
  • Experience of using Docker
  • Experience of using Node.JS
  • Experience of using GraphQL
