Copyeditor

The Verdantix Publishing Department is looking for a Copyeditor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing, fast-paced and highly collaborative department working to ensure engagement with content on a global scale, in a business that’s helping to make a difference in the world.

 

As a Copyeditor, you will deal with business research reports on topics ranging from net zero and climate risk to operational excellence and smart buildings.

 

You will support the end-to-end publishing process from draft report to publication on the website, with tasks covering copyediting, formatting, figure creation and the uploading of documents. You will drive consistency in Verdantix publishing standards and contribute to innovation in how we package and deliver our research in different formats/channels.

 

We are considering applications in the range of £27,000-30,000 (dependent on experience) plus a competitive quarterly bonus.

 

This position has a planned start date of August 2024.

 

What you’ll be doing…

  • The end-to-end publishing process from draft report to publication on the website, including copyediting, formatting, figure creation and uploading documents
  • Editing written content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and house style consistency
  • Supporting the Publishing Manager and wider business on materials as required, including, but not limited to, marketing, events and advisory collateral
  • Contributing to internal knowledge-sharing and training on writing best practice

What we’re looking for…

  • Degree-educated, preferably with an Arts or Humanities focus
  • Fluent in English, with mastery of English grammar and different writing styles
  • Experience of editing and proofreading text
  • Motivated by working for a purpose-driven company and sustainability-driven data initiatives
  • Effective prioritization and time management skills, with confidence in balancing multiple priorities and delivering to expectations
  • Ability to work independently, with a willingness to take the initiative to resolve issues
  • Confidence in dealing with basic data, charts and figures
