Junior Buyer - YF - Heritage Lifestyle

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

At Zalando, we are seeking a proactive and trend led Junior Buyer to join our dynamic Young Fashion team. We want customers to find the perfect products for them, from shoes to clothing and accessories. Our task is to put together an on-trend and profitable selection of products. We love discovering new product ideas for our brands. But finding the right trends is only one aspect, as we also need to keep track of our KPIs and processes. Constant exchange with other departments, like logistics, quality, sourcing and marketing, ensures that we act in line with the whole organization. In the end, we are all working towards the same goal: to create an excellent experience for our customers at Zalando.

 

As a Junior Buyer in Zalando, you will plan, develop and buy your own commodity group, taking ownership and accountability of performance KPIs and dealing with suppliers all over the world. You are working closely with the Design, Product Development & Merchandising team, to bring your creative and commercial strategy to life.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE INTERESTED

  • As a Junior Buyer in the Young Fashion buying team you will be part of a high-performing and dynamic team, creating new and innovative ways to connect people and fashion. You will be responsible for the development and management of seasonal collections, including planning, in-season management and purchasing of your product group.
  • Strategic assortment building with product-based analysis and up-to-date market knowledge to underline trading decisions
  • First contact person for our international suppliers - to negotiate prices and follow up on quality and lead times
  • Supervising the critical path from development to order placement and final delivery
  • In season management - work closely with our planning team in order to ensure that our products are available for purchase
  • Exchanging and building successful relationships with other departments, you will work cross-functionally to drive sales and maximize profit.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Fashion Management or an education in a similar area
  • +2 years knowledge and experience in Buying or Merchandising on an assistant/junior level and passion and interest for the world of e-commerce
  • Thriving in fast-paced environments, embracing collaboration and acting proactively. Organizing your workload efficiently, ensuring tasks are ready on time, are accurate and prioritized accordingly
  • Knowledge in MS Office, Google Tools and combining the passion for numbers with fashion. Moreover, you have a strong understanding for trends and products, especially at European-market level
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
