Trainee / Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Approved Power Services is a growing business, with an expanding commercial team and is a business eager to invest in people and provide a progression route to diligent, motivated individuals. 

We currently have a vacancy for a Trainee/ Assistant/ Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (depending on experience) to support our growing cable installation and civil engineering business. The company is based in St. Helens and the role is hybrid, with attendance at Head Office, project sites and home, as necessary.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and eager to develop into taking on more responsibilities and ultimately progress to Project Quantity Surveyor, commercially managing their own projects

The Salary range is up to £35,000.00 (depending on experience). A car allowance package may be considered, depending on the level of experience.  In addition, employees receive the benefit of a private pension, private healthcare and death in service. 

This role would suit a varying degree of experience, including but not limited to;

  • A recent graduate of Quantity Surveying or a construction-related degree. 
  • A current undergraduate studying Quantity Surveying or a construction-related degree. 
  • A construction professional looking to transition into Quantity Surveying. 
  • An existing Trainee, Assistant or Intermediate-level Quantity Surveyor with up to 3 years’ experience in the trade.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • Managing subcontractors – including drafting their respective contracts, reviewing their applications for payment and drafting their associated payment notices.
  • Managing of labour supply projects – including monitoring and tracking customer PO values and cost-value reconciliations, as necessary.  
  • Project assistance to the more senior members of the Commercial team – including but not limited to developing costs to complete, drafting customer applications for payment, drafting contractual notices and pricing quotations.
