Engineering Graduate Scheme

The Role

Your role 

You will work within our well established Engineering teams, together with colleagues from our environmental and modelling disciplines to create efficient, effective and sustainable design solutions, through asset inspections, concept and outline designs, detailed design, and construction supervision. 

Our engineering teams also contribute to the appraisal of projects at business case stage. You will work with colleagues to understand the issues our clients face and find appropriate, sustainable solutions. 

Within our Engineering discipline there is a wide variety of projects. You may work in any number of these: 

Fluvial and Coastal flood risk management projects 

Infrastructure projects – Rail, Drainage and Highways 

Dams and Reservoirs 

Water Level Management 

Land Surveying 

Commercial development  

 The team member we’re looking for 

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills. 
- Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
- The ability to work independently under supervision or as a team-member. 
- The ability to reflect on and check your work to make sure outputs meet specified requirements or quality criteria. 

Qualifications 

- An awarded bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering subject  
- One or more A-Levels (or equivalent) in a STEM subject. 

The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.

 Desirable attributes for the role 

It will be advantageous to your application if you have, and / or can evidence: 
 
- A postgraduate qualification (such as a master’s degree or PGCert) in a discipline relevant to your area of intended expertise (in addition to or instead of a bachelor’s degree). 
- Relevant work experience (e.g., gained through an internship, year-in-industry placement, or voluntary roles). 
- Confidence and willingness to work outdoors or in remote environments if the nature of your role requires it.
