We are currently recruiting for a Welcome Host to join our One Square, Food & Beverage Team at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh’s financial and tourist area and is one of Scotland's leading 5-star hotels. As the largest 5-star hotel in the city with 269 bedrooms, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities with a capacity of up to 500 and the award-winning One Square Restaurant. Additionally, the hotel operates the award-winning One Spa™, one of Europe's premier advanced city spas.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Excellent people skills and an upbeat and positive attitude to work and life.
• Ability to create a positive first and last impression for all guests.
• Able to work a combination of early and late shifts.
• Flexible approach towards working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and determine the number in their party.
• Seat guests using booking information, providing clean and current menus.
• Guide guests through the dining rooms and assist as needed, including arranging tables for groups with special needs.
• Ensure place settings are appropriate, including napkins, clean silverware, and other items.
• Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Monitor reservations for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests.
• Provide barista service to guests in the lounge.

Requirements:

• Naturally confident, outgoing, and extrovert.
• Passionate about ensuring people have an enjoyable time.
• "Can do" attitude and ability to thrive in a high-pressure, high-volume environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English with a good phone manner.
• Advanced computer skills and sound knowledge of OpenTable and Outlook.
• Previous F&B serving and barista skills are preferred.
• Flexible approach towards hours.
