GBP 7292 Graduate Fundraising Officer for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

 

Job Summary

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance are looking for a motivated, and creative individual with a can-do attitude to become an essential part of their team. You will raise funds to maintain the Charity’s vital service in providing relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road delivered critical care capability.  This role can evolve based on your strengths and while you may start your journey in one area, there is vast potential for internal growth and career development in others. This role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme and offers a full-time permanent contract with hybrid working. You will need to travel to offices based in Wellington on a regular basis and it is therefore important that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Salary: £27,000 per annum.

 

 

Purpose of the Role

 

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road delivered critical care capability. In this role, you will help us to raise funds to maintain this vital service and as a Graduate Fundraising Officer, you will be an essential part of our team. 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Be the first line of support in the Fundraising team.
  • Assist in providing an excellent supporter journey through channels including our online platforms.
  • Monitor and answer fundraising queries.
  • Provide event support and assist the Events Officer.
  • Provide fundraising materials to our supporters.
  • Assist in processing new volunteer applications.
  • Research and order merchandise.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities are compliant with regulatory bodies.

About You (Person Specification)

 

Degree and Attainment

 

  • Bachelor's degree of 2:1 or above in any discipline achieve in the last 3 years from a UK-based university.
  • Full UK Driving licence

 

Skills

 

  • Confident using Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.

 

Personal Qualities and Attributes

 

  • Passionate about fundraising for charitable causes
  • Ability to take initiative and work without regular prompting.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a varied workload.
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours occasionally if needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A problem solver who enjoys using software to create solutions.

 

Knowledge

 

  • Desirable – knowledge of the Third Sector /Charities
  • Desirable - Experience of collaborating with volunteers or a charity.

 

Prior Experience 

 

  • Desirable - Experience of working within a charity or within a Fundraising environment.

 

About the Company

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road delivered critical care capability. We are 95% funded by charitable donations and need to raise funds to maintain this vital service. As a Graduate Fundraising Officer, you will be an essential part of our team. 

 

Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) Scheme Requirements

 

  • To undertake a graduate role through the GBP scheme, you must have either achieved your degree or be in your final year at any UK-based university.
  • If you are in your final year, your working hours may be reduced to 15 hours per week (for undergraduates) or 6 hours per week (for postgraduates) to ensure you have the capacity to successfully complete your degree. More hours can be completed if your academic agrees and provides written confirmation.
  • If you do not pass your degree, the GBP role will end early.
  • You must have graduated in the UK within the last 3 years of your most recent degree (we will consider extenuating circumstances of potential applicants that may have prevented them from undertaking a graduate role within 3 years of graduation).
