Lecturer - English

Are you a Lecturer - English, currently in Further Education, looking to work in a supportive, forward-thinking college?

We're recruiting for a Lecturer - English to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The salary scale for this role is £24,872 - £43,440 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, dpending on qualifications and experience.

*An additional market-rate supplement of up to £10k may be available for this role, depending upon an individual's skills and experience.
 

The Role;

Our Adult Skills department, based at our accessible Rush Green Campus, are preparing young people and adults to enter the workforce.

You'll provide inspiration, skill and practical experience to students across our department's courses. You'll also contribute to the development of our course offer, building on our innovative provision.

Key responsibilities of our role;

  • Plan and develops lessons, including the development of schemes of work
  • Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students
  • Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
  • Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply
  • Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students in order to support them in their own development and future progression
  • Keep abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students
  • Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector

Our ideal Lecturer - English should have the following qualifications, skills and experience;

  • Hold a teaching qualification and have experience of teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors

OR

  • Have a level 3 qualification in the subject relevant to the course you will be delivering, and be prepared to undertake a Further Education teaching qualification with our support, as part of our Passport to Teaching programme
