Simulation and Modelling Research Assistant

What you will be doing:

Manage a simulation and modelling programme at the University in support of the SUBNORDICA ERC Synergy grant. You will work with project partners and lead on the Bradford design and creation of simulation and modelling machine learning routines focusing on integrating data from across project work packages providing models enabling the identification of areas likely to contain archaeological deposits and to assist in interpretation of cultural practices associated with such models through to publication. You will integrate source data into landscape, sea level rise, climate and behavioural models to predict potential site locations. You will also work with the  project AI and machine learning manager to design, create and document analytical processes and outputs and support PhD students related to the comparative assessment of terrestrial and marine data.

 The post will support- 

  • The design and creation of simulation and modelling machine learning routines focusing on integrating data from across project work packages
  • Providing models which will enable the identification of areas likely to contain archaeological deposits and to assist in interpretation of cultural practices associated with such models..
  • To undertake a modelling and simulation programme to provide simulations of the Holocene landscapes of Doggerland from existing and new environmental, behavioural and remote sensing sources.
