National Grid: September Insight and Job Application Preparation Week

We would like to share some information about an exciting programme for students interested in careers in  Engineering, Economics, Finance and Accounting and Business Management. 

What you need to know:

We’re Generating Genius - a UK-registered charity dedicated to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in their pursuit of STEM careers. We’re working with National Grid to create an exclusive programme that supports students with the tools they need to land internships, placements and graduate roles. 

Together we’re delivering a 2 day intensive career-focused programme (September 2nd and 4th) to set them up for success. This includes improving their application skills, gaining industry insights and networking opportunities. 
 

Students will also receive £30 Amazon Voucher upon successful completion, certificate recognizing their achievements and feedback from National Grid.

Travel and food is all provided so no student needs to worry about incurring any additional costs.

Who can apply:

We’re looking for students whose hometowns are in the following areas:

  • West Midlands. This includes towns/cities such as Birmingham, Coventry, Stoke on Trent, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.
  • London (Greater London),
  • Kent,
  • Durham
  • Newcastle,
  • Norwich
  • Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.

 

Subject Areas: Engineering (all types), Maths, Physics, Accounting & Finance, Economics, Business Management, Management,

Graduation Year: 2024/2025/2026/2027 (for those looking for placements) and on track for a minimum of a 2:2 

UK Home Student Only 

Meeting at least one of the criteria below: 

  • A household income of less than £42,000
  • Received Free School Meals while at school
  • Students must not have attended a fee-paying school to apply.
