International Conversion Officer

Post Title:  International Conversion Officer 

SBU/Department:  International Office

 

FTE: 1.0fte (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Salary: UH5 £27,181 - £30,487 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane campus 

 

We are looking for a talented and pro-active person who can contribute to the work of our International Office. The post holder will have a key role in the international conversion function for the University of Hertfordshire and will support the recruitment and commercial functions of the International Office. 

 

Main duties & responsibilities

This role will require you to support enquirer and applicant conversion campaigns through messaging services, email, and inbound and outbound telemarketing. You will implement conversion plans across all markets, supporting regional strategies and the overall international office conversion strategy. You must develop an excellent working knowledge of admission entry requirements and University USPs across all markets and provide excellent customer service to applicants, agents, partners and other stakeholders. You must support and mentor more junior colleagues and those supporting conversion, developing their capability such that each is fully able to contribute to activity and carry out effective campaigns. You will be expected to take initiatives on prioritising urgent work in line with application cycle deadlines and develop and maintain a knowledge of UK immigration policy.

Skills & experience required

You will have a proven track record of successfully working in a comparable international education or customer focused role. You must have exceptional customer service experience and telemarketing experience. You will be able to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure and be flexible in your approach. You will be capable of establishing relationships quickly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 

You must be personable with strong communications skills and have an excellent phone manner. You will have strong organisation and planning skills and be a strong negotiator. 

 

Qualifications required

You must be educated with a minimum of a degree level, or equivalent qualification, or have proven professional experience.
