Media and Technology Researcher

JHA LLP is a specialist litigation and arbitration multi-disciplinary practice. We combine the qualities of a traditional law firm with that of a Chambers. JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to undertake various research projects related to Media and Technology, including in relation to the influence of technology (including the internet) on media and journalism. The role will involve not only conducting the research but presenting your findings in a succinct and effective way to the firm’s lawyers and clients as necessary. 

The role will provide significant exposure to world-class experts in their field and offers the opportunity for a talented writer to apply their academic prowess within a commercial and highly regarded organisation.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Good Undergraduate Degree and probably a Masters Degree in a discipline of Media Studies, Journalism, Law or Technology or a combination of these, although we will also consider relevant related areas.
  • Preferably, previous experience of researching the influence of technology (including the internet) on media and journalism and be able to demonstrate a knowledge and genuine interest in the subject.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and analytical ability and be exceptionally good at pulling together research to author a detailed yet clear narrative.
  • Highly articulate and have a broad range of research skills that they can apply to any given subject matter.
  • Comfortable working independently without close supervision.
  • Presentable, a good communicator and able to anticipate people's needs easily.
  • An excellent standard of written and spoken English is absolutely essential to this role.

 

The position is a permanent full-time role with office hours Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm or equivalent.

This role can be worked fully remotely or hybrid depending on the candidate's preference.
