Front-end engineer/developer

Zero is looking for a Front-end Engineer who can bring a solution-focused mindset and contribute to architectural decisions and support the wider organisation in its technical challenges. The Front-end Engineer is a newly created role to support the Technical Department in contributing to the client-side of Zero’s proprietary web-based platform and front-end services.

Role accountabilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of frontend applications, ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to create visually appealing and responsive web services to client requirements
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features, such as Content Management Systems
• Develop internal code/frameworks that can serve as a foundation for future projects.
• Generate wireframes and mockups of designs to agreed specifications
• Optimise web services for improved UX/performance
• Maintain and communicate up-to-date documentation for services produced

 

Skills and Experiences

Essential
• Demonstrable experience of working with any front-end framework (i.e. React/Svelte)
• Highly proficient with Javascript/Typescript, HTML and CSS
• Good appreciation of UX/UI
• Knowledge of REST API interactions for creating accessible and secure frontend applications
• Comfortable with CI/CD concepts within version-controlled platforms, such as Github Actions
• Excellent communication skills
• Can do attitude
• Results-focused
• Team player

Desirable
• Experience working with 3D models and visualisation libraries (d3.js, Three.js)
• Interest or experience with Python and Python-based web frameworks (Django/Flask/FastAPI) or willingness to learn
• Knowledge or familiarity with authentication mechanisms (OAuth, SAML, JWT)
• Any familiarity or experience working with any cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Any experience of CMS development
