Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Intensive Support Team (IST)provides a rapid, time limited, community based assessment and treatment service for people with learning disability living in Hertfordshire, who challenge services and have additional mental health needs. IST seeks to provide an alternative, where appropriate, for Service Users to hospital admission, so as to minimise further disruption to their lives and to the people who care for them.  

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward thinking Learning Disability Nurse / Mental Health Nurse to join the Intensive Support Team (IST) . The team is based within the East & North Hertfordshire locality with existing links to other local health and social care services for people with learning disability.  This is a full time, 37.5 hours a week, permanent position, flexible over 7 days.

Applicants must be a  Learning Disability or Mental Health registered Nurse.  They must have an awareness of the health needs of this service user group, have excellent communication and leadership skills, be keen to extend their skills in a supportive environment, and be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.  Applicants must possess proven skills in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for people with learning disability and mental health needs.
