Investment Management Assistant

About this opportunity:

 

We have an exciting opportunities to join our Charities Team as an Investment Management Assistant on a permanent basis in our London office. In this position you will support Investment and Portfolio Managers, developing knowledge of Investment Management and the wider business. 

 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Developing knowledge of Investment Management, the wider business offering and the Financial Services sector
  • Supports Investment Manager(s) and Portfolio Manager(s) in production of portfolio proposals, reviews and associated client administration
  • Executes trades on instruction from Certified Person Portfolio Manager or Investment Manager, where appropriate
  • Completes all work according to procedures and standards
  • Collates and verifies the accuracy of information and work provided
  • Assists in preparation of review and new client meeting documentation
  • Supports business development through correct application of client processes and procedures
  • Assists team members as required and works effectively with colleagues
  • Information giver – providing client with information and not advice
  • Limited client interaction at this stage, but any interaction should be maintained with RBC Brewin Dolphin’s conduct and professionalism standards
  • Understands and complies with all FCA regulations and principles applying to the role
  • Adheres to Conduct Risk standards and all other RBC Brewin Dolphin Policies and Procedures

 

Skills / Experience:

 

  • Ability to prioritise workload and identify when they need support to achieve goals
  • Gaining an understanding of investment management, client advice processes as well as both industry and charity sector knowledge
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of the market and regulation changes through Continuous Professional development (CPD)
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills – oral and written
  • Ability to meet deadlines/work within restricted timescales
  • Flexible and reliable team member
  • Ability to work on own initiative to achieve required results
  • Collaborative and inclusive approach to work
  • Demonstrates the RBCBD values
  • Enthusiasm to assist with business development of new charity business

 

Qualifications: Academic/ Professional/ Regulatory:

 

  • 5 GCEs or equivalent
  • Including Maths and English
  • Working towards / attained CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma or equivalent
