Trainee Investigator

Role Description

We are seeking to recruit a talented individual to join Harod as a trainee investigator. The position is full-time based in our London office. 

 

The first year of the role will involve rotation between each investigation department, where the successful candidate will receive mentoring, as well as formal and on the job training. This provides a great opportunity to gain skills and experience in varied investigation areas, such as, but not limited to, sport integrity, due diligence, fraud and business intelligence. In turn allowing the successful candidate to learn about the overall business of Harod before settling onto an investigation team.

 

On occasions the successful candidate may be required to travel and work overseas for short periods and sometimes at short notice. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Typical tasks and projects (after appropriate training) may include:

  • Deploying various research and open-source tools, techniques, and best practices to identify relevant information
  • Undertaking analysis of digital forensic material
  • Undertaking analysis of research and investigative findings
  • Investigation support
  • Investigative interviewing
  • Utilising our many investigation technologies, including SeekerXR, SightXR and Voice Analytics
  • Briefing team members and external partners about research findings
  • Writing reports containing the evaluation of a variety of sources
  • Creating content and articles to promote the work of Harod
  • Networking and business development

 

Skills, attributes and qualifications

Essential

  • A 2:1 degree or higher (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Competency in undertaking researching
  • Comfortable engaging and operating new technology and software
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work alone or in a team
  • Comfortable working well under own initiative and unsupervised
  • An aspiration and enthusiasm to pursue a career as an investigator
  • Legally approved to work in the UK

 

Desirable

  • Good working knowledge of a second language
