Job Title: Assistant Research Manager 

Reports to: Project Manager

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire 

Salary: Negotiable Hours: Part-Time (minimum 20hrs/ week) or Full-Time (40hrs/week) 

Job Purpose 

We are looking for an Assistant Research Manager  to play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare training. This position involves conducting comprehensive market research, analysing user data, and providing actionable insights to drive product development and digital marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will leverage their academic background to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical application, helping us to refine our offerings and expand our impact in the healthcare sector. 

Key Responsibilities

• Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes. Analyse user needs and market demands to support strategic decision-making and product development. 

• User Insights and Testing: Design and execute user trials and focus groups to gather valuable feedback. Document and analyse findings to inform product enhancements and ensure alignment with user needs. 

• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarising research findings. Contribute to the creation of high-quality documentation, including project briefs and case studies, for internal use and external publication.

• Academic and Clinical Partnerships: Collaborate with academic institutions and clinical partners to ensure that research findings are integrated into our projects. Assist in building and maintaining these crucial relationships. 

• Event Representation: Represent i3 Simulations at industry events, conferences, and workshops. Communicate our achievements and innovations to diverse audiences, enhancing our visibility and reputation. 

• Strategic Support: Assist in identifying and pursuing funding opportunities and project bids. Support the development of marketing strategies by providing insights derived from research data. 

Key Requirements 

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct Comprehensive Research: Investigate and document trends, opportunities, and challenges within the healthcare technology sector and related fields such as XR and AI. Utilise various research methodologies to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyse competitor activities, innovations, and market positioning. Prepare detailed reports on competitive landscape and strategic insights to inform i3 Simulations' market strategy.
  • User Needs Assessment: Analyse user feedback, conduct surveys, and perform focus group studies to understand user needs and pain points. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations for product development and marketing.

User Insights and Testing

  • Design and Implement Testing: Develop and execute user trials and focus groups to assess the effectiveness and usability of i3 Simulations' products. Create detailed test plans and ensure rigorous execution.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyse data from user tests, including qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics. Use this data to identify trends, validate hypotheses, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Report Findings: Compile and present findings from user testing and research to internal teams. Ensure that insights are clearly communicated and integrated into the product development lifecycle.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare Research Reports: Draft comprehensive reports summarising research findings, market analysis, and user insights. Ensure reports are well[1]organised, clearly written, and visually engaging.
  • Create Project Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including project briefs, case studies, and research summaries. Ensure documentation supports product development and marketing strategies.
  • Support Technical Writing: Assist in writing and editing technical papers, whitepapers, and academic publications. Ensure content is accurate, well[1]structured, and adheres to relevant guidelines and standards.

 • Academic and Clinical Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Partners: Engage with academic institutions and clinical partners to support collaborative research and development efforts. Facilitate the integration of research findings into projects and products.
  • Build Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with academic and clinical stakeholders. Represent i3 Simulations in meetings and discussions to advance collaborative initiatives.

Event Representation

  • Attend Industry Events: Represent i3 Simulations at conferences, workshops, and seminars. Network with industry professionals and stakeholders to promote the company’s work and enhance its visibility.
  • Present Findings: Prepare and deliver presentations on research outcomes, product developments, and company achievements. Engage with audiences to communicate the value and impact of i3 Simulations' innovations.

 • Strategic Support 

  • Assist with Funding Applications: Identify potential funding opportunities and support the preparation of grant applications and project bids. Provide research and data to strengthen proposals and secure funding.
  • Support Marketing Strategies: Collaborate with the marketing team to apply research insights in developing effective marketing campaigns. Contribute to the creation of marketing materials and strategies based on research findings.

 • Administrative and Miscellaneous Tasks 

  • Organise Research Activities: Manage and coordinate research projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to project goals. Handle logistics, scheduling, and documentation associated with research activities.

 • Stay Informed: Your role will require staying updated on technological advancements and effectively integrating these tools to enhance your work outcomes. Continuously update knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in research and data analysis. Apply new insights and methods to enhance research activities. 

Technology Understanding: Demonstrate a deep enthusiasm for and understanding of cutting-edge technologies, including Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Familiarity with the practical applications of AI tools is essential, as you will be required to use them to optimise your day-to-day tasks.

 • Essential Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is crucial, with advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. You should be adept at creating compelling presentations, performing complex data analysis, and producing clear, professional documentation. Additionally, experience with other data management and analysis software will be advantageous. Your ability to effectively utilise these tools will support detailed reporting, strategic planning, and accurate data presentation, contributing to the overall success of the research and data analysis efforts.

 

Desirable Attributes 

 • Experience in academic or clinical research settings. 

• Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and their integration with research findings. 

• Previous involvement in writing and publishing research papers or whitepapers.
