Ready to shine bright in your career?
It’s not just about the numbers, yes accountancy does involve looking at the figures, but it’s also about solving problems and strategic thinking. In this pathway, you’ll undertake one-year placements across different finance teams and work towards your ACA qualifications.
If you’re commercially minded, keen to learn and able to think strategically, this pathway is a great place for you to start a great career that could take you as far as you want to go.
From the moment you join us, you’ll be in a permanent position where you can own and drive your development.

You will do three, one-year placements across different finance teams, including Financial Reporting & Controls, Business Partnering and Taxation and Investments. In other words, with us you’ll become a fully qualified accountant, a leader in the making and you’ll hold the qualification and hands-on experience to launch your career.

- An eagerness to question existing ways of doing things
- A desire to build your commercial awareness and think strategically
- A love of learning and the drive to keep developing yourself
Where could you be based?
Our Accountancy Pathway opportunities are based in Norwich or York: all buzzing places in which to launch your career. It’s important that you live within commuting distance of the office where the role is based or be willing to relocate prior to start date as you’ll need to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, working from home. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams.
Things graduates love about Aviva
Yes, we’re the UK’s leading diversified insurer. But we’re customer-centric and planet-minded. We’re acting on climate change and helping others do the same. We’re building stronger communities and investing in a future we all want to live in. And we’re changing the way we do business by championing everything from the living wage to women leaders.
We’re proud to be diverse, and just like our 19.5 million customers, our people are a mix of cultures, genders, and ages. We understand that one size doesn’t fit all and promote flexible ways of working for our team, so you can find your spark, your way.
The work we do is rewarding and challenging. And whatever role you’re in, we’ll give you the training you need as well as opportunities for you to develop yourself and grow in your career. We’re continuously moving forward as a business, and we’ll make sure you do too.
How to apply
The application deadline is November 17th. However, we may close the application process earlier if we receive a large number of suitable applications.
To set your expectations and help you prepare, there are four steps in our graduate application process:
- Online application - complete a short questionnaire about your motivations, and submit it along with a copy of your CV.
- Video interview
- Virtual assessment day with tasks that enable you to show us what you're good at and what you enjoy.
- Online situational strengths and numerical reasoning tests
Shine there and we'll offer you a role to start in September 2025.
Please note: At Aviva we offer multiple graduate pathways, of which, this is one. We ask that you only apply for one pathway - the one that most aligns to your strengths and interests. If you do make more than one application, we will only accept your first.
Aviva is committed to inclusivity
We're inclusive, and keen to attract applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Research tells us that women in particular will often rule themselves out if they feel they don't tick every box. But don't let that stop you. If you truly believe you have what it takes, we'd love to hear from you.
We interview every disabled applicant who meets the minimum criteria for the job. During your application, there will be an opportunity for you to send us an email stating that you have a disclosed disability.
Please submit your application online if you can. But if that presents a problem, just email avivaearlycareers@aviva.com and we'll make sure you’re supported.
