Accutrainee Scholarship Programme 2025
Closing date for applications is 31 December 2024. A new application cycle will be opened mid-2025.
Accutrainee Scholarship Programme 2025
Accutrainee is delighted to announce that the Scholarship Programme for 2025 is now open for applications.
Our commitment to improving diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession is unwavering and we recognise that there still continues to be a disproportionate under-representation of lawyers from less diverse and socially mobile backgrounds.
The Programme
Accutrainee is offering a unique route to qualification where trainees are sponsored to undertake their Solicitors Qualifying Examinations and provided with opportunities to get their necessary qualifying work experience to qualify as Solicitors. Where scholars have a preference to complete the traditional training contract route, Accutrainee can also cater for this.
As your training partner, Accutrainee will continually monitor and assess both the work you are conducting, as well as your development throughout your training period and be there to support you every step of the way with personalised mentors and our exclusive AI training companion - Pathways.
Who Should Apply?
The Programme is specifically designed to support and address key barriers to entering the legal profession, such as degree discrimination or social mobility issues. We welcome applications from candidates from less advantaged backgrounds and under-represented groups within our industry.
We will accept applications from:
- Candidates who have completed the LPC.
- Candidates who have started or will soon be starting the LPC.
- Candidates who are taking the SQE route to qualification who have completed a qualifying law degree or GDL.
- Candidates who are taking the SQE route to qualification who have completed a non-law degree but have successfully passed SQE Part 1.
The Process
The Application and Eligibility Criteria – We will want to gain an understanding of your personal history and achievements to date. In addition to financial and socio-economic criteria, eligibility to the Programme will also be based on a consideration of exceptional circumstances, that you have faced in pursuing your legal career.
NB: If you are successful we may ask for evidence of familial loans, bursary, scholarship, or other funding received, that you have provided in support of your application.
The Assessment - We will be assessing candidates' intellectual, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication and organisational skills with a focus on resilience, commercial awareness, teamwork, passion for law and dedication to succeed.
The Opportunity – If successful you will be added to our successful candidate database and begin the start of your legal journey. You will also be advised of opportunities to gain qualifying work experience at our partner organisations which may involve placements within a law firm and/or in-house departments. At a time that is appropriate to your specific needs, and on securing a placement you will be supported in completing the SQE, as well as any outstanding qualifying work experience opportunities needed in support of your qualification as a Solicitor. We will also discuss with you funding towards your LPC if you have chosen the training contract route to qualification.
Throughout the process, Accutrainee will provide you with support, tailored mentoring and training; continually assessing your development to give you the very best opportunity to succeed.
Post Qualification – We will support you to find a suitable qualified role, through our Accuflex brand but it is our hope that you will be introduced to your future employer through this Programme.
