Researcher

Job Description – Researcher

We are currently looking for ambitious, high calibre graduates to join our growing research team.
Founded in 2013 by our two partners, Minerva is a distinctive executive search firm with a focus on senior appointments within education, the cultural sector, global development, and the not-for-profit space. We advise on both permanent and interim roles. Our clients are located all over the world, and our pool of candidates is global.

Minerva provides a professional service and we set out not to become the largest firm, but to be the most interesting, committed to a holistic and human approach that separates us out in our industry.

We have always been committed to re-investing a significant proportion of our profits back into the sectors we support. Since we started, we have developed and supported numerous activities in the cultural sector, grass-roots sport, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and professional development activities. We have also supported refugee academics completing PhD programmes.

We place great emphasis on our approach to client and candidate care: we commit to being responsive, honest and warm in our interactions with anyone who engages with the firm. Our team really matters to us – and we work to ensure that all team members are included and supported, able to develop and enjoy their time at the firm. Our commitment to our colleagues is a central part of delivering our objectives in quality and integrity.

Our team is based in Farringdon in central London, and we offer flexible working (3-4 days per week in the office).

The role:

We are looking to grow our research team with several new hires. Researchers are a critical part of the executive search process, and you will be responsible for:

  • Developing a comprehensive search strategy alongside a consultant based on the client’s needs;
  • Mapping the market and researching relevant professionals within the industry;
  • Reaching out and assessing candidates based on their experiences and skills to determine if they are a good fit for the client;
  • Supporting consultants and other team members in the delivery of searches;
  • Working on a broad range of other business development projects and other initiatives as and when required

As a small but growing firm we offer opportunities to develop fast: you will have more exposure to face-to-face interactions with candidates and clients than would be offered in many larger firms.

What we’re looking for:

The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to multitask. We are looking for a fast learner, highly organised, intellectually curious and with strong analytical skills. This is a people-focused business, and you will spend a significant portion of your time building relationships with our clients and candidates. We are therefore looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a good communicator.

We find that people who are most successful in this work are able to combine structure and rigour with intuition and a general empathy with candidates.

Applicants must have, or be on course to achieve, a 2:1 or first-class degree.

The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
