Role overview
In January 2020 the University of Liverpool signed the
Sustainable Development Goal Accord, publicly
displaying our commitment to align all major efforts
with the United Nations' Sustainability Development
Goals (SDGs), through our education and engagement
activities.
As part of our dedication to achieving the goals, last
year we recruited six student interns to design and
develop Sustainability in Action (SIA), an online Canvas
module that provides an introduction to sustainability
and educates students on the real life actions they can
take to promote sustainable development.
The module has been a huge success with over 14,000
students accessing the course and over 700 fully
completing it to achieve HEAR accreditation. We are
looking for a new group of interns to update any
elements of the course that are outdated, ready for our
new intake of students this autumn.
As an intern, you will proactively create networks with
the University's Centre for Innovation in Education
team, academic staff with expertise/ interest in
sustainability and external organisations. You will be
expected to use your initiative in order to research and
update online content, review feedback received from
students and staff to improve certain elements of the
course and design live in person activities that can run
throughout Welcome Week to compliment SIA, inspire
thought-provoking discussions and the development of
lifelong skills.
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from
staff at the University's Careers and Employability team.
You will meet regularly with the other interns to share
ideas, track progress and reflect on your experiences.
Through completion of various tasks on this project, you
will broaden your knowledge and skills and as a result
enhance your professional development.

development to learn and network.
· To use your creativity to design and develop a
menu of realistic live activities that can run throughout
the academic year to compliment SIA
· To expand the SIA offer to include an additional
accreditation available to all students who have
completed the course.
