We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an experienced Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team at Delkia.
 
Overview of the role
 
To develop the functional design of complex motion control systems in a Model Based Engineering (MBSE) context at scale on a safety-critical system.
 
This is an ideal role for an experienced principal safety engineer/ systems engineer with the ability to develop the safety processes and lead the safety analysis activity, from the design concept, through detailed design to the design qualification.
 
The safety team are responsible for ensuring the system safety requirements, system requirements allocated to software, and hardware availability requirements, developed by the motion control development team are consistent with the design approach and product safety guidelines
 
 
Key responsibilities
 
·       Developing the safety processes and procedures consistent with safety-critical systems and associated
·       standards
·       Leading the safety analysis of the motion control systems covering the concept, through to delivery of the
detailed design
·       Analysing the design against defined functions for all failure conditions (hazard)
·       Performing Functional Failure Analysis (FFA) and construction of hazard analysis Fault Trees
·       Working closely with the motion control team at an early stage to help define the design architecture and
      ensure the project safety requirements are met as the detailed design progresses
·       Liaison with the customer and end-client
 
Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites
 
·       Knowledge of safety lifecycle(s) in particular “left-hand” side of V-lifecycle (FFA/HAZOP/SWIFT/FTA)
·       Knowledge of Industry Standards and Practices e.g., Def-Stan 00-055 and 00-56
·       Experience of working on complex safety and critical systems and / or software
·       Working knowledge of MBE and MBSE environments
·       Experience in leading and participating in safety workshops
·       Experience writing safety and design justifications
·       A desire to help define how safety analysis is performed on future projects
