Graduate IT Security Analyst - Electricity System Operator (ESO)

Joining our 18-month Electricity System Operator Graduate Development Programme gives you the opportunity to develop your skills! The 18-month experience consisting of three 6-month placements in varying ESO IT departments. Your first placement will consist of key activities as outlined below (but not limited to), and you will return to this role following two broadening 6-month rotations where your knowledge of IT at ESO will be expanded. 

We are looking for people with technical aptitude who can engage with and influence stakeholders including colleagues, partner organisations and project sponsors in the wider business, working to make sure all our people, premises and systems stay safe and secure. 

You could be helping manage the risk of cyber threats which continually evolve and increase in sophistication and persistence, to protect our vital infrastructure. 

The services underpinning digital security are wide-ranging, and you could make your mark in Cyber Security Services, Product and Engineering, Operations, Security Business Partnering, Technology Risk, Strategic Risk & Governance, and Performance. 

As a member of the Security team, you will help protect our people, our premises and digital systems to maintain trust in National Grid ESO’s services. You will have the chance to experience how we manage cyber risk including analysing and assessing potential security risks, developing plans to deal with security incidents by putting measures in place, and preparing technical reports to support our strategy. 

This role is based at Wokingham with flexible, hybrid working. 

You’ll have a minimum 2.1 degree in Cyber Security related degree (preferred) or Computing related degree (acceptable)
