JOB TITLE: Graduate Finance Assistant - PERMANENT
 
Reports to: Financial Controller

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
An exciting new opportunity for a driven and motivated graduated to join this global firm and secure a career within finance. This role is supported by study towards AAT training.
 
The Graduate Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring transactions are entered in a timely fashion onto the AP/AR ledgers. Responsibility also includes daily reconciliation of bank accounts as well as other ad hoc work as required by the Financial Controller and/or Director of Finance & HR.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•         Processing and checking of sales invoices to the company IT system
•         Daily checking for electronic sales orders
•         Monitoring accounts emails
•         Circulating monthly customer statements
•         Managing major retail customer AR accounts
•         Enter all purchase invoices onto AP ledger
•         Daily bank reconciliations for company bank accounts
•         Responsibility for key balance sheet reconciliations
•         Preparation of monthly sales data report
•         Download data and prepare information for quarterly VAT returns
•         Preparation of ad hoc reports for Financial Controller & Director of Finance and HR
 
PERSON PROFILE:
Education
Degree educated – Finance, Accounting or Business Management
GCSE English, Mathematics (Grade C or above) or equivalent
      
Experience               
Ideally some experience through internship, work experience or placement year in a finance environment
 
Knowledge                
Understanding of accounting & finance
Career desire to progress in finance, and undertake finance qualifications
 
Key Capabilities
Excellent IT skills and ability to manipulate date
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills
Creativity in problem solving
Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – in particular Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
 
HOURS OF WORK:
Hybrid working 2 days from home – Monday & Friday
3 days in the office Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
9 – 5 pm Monday – Thursday (45 minutes lunch break)
9 – 3 Friday (30 minutes lunch break)
 
HEALTH AND SAFETY: No current issues to report
 
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Circa starting salary of 22k (this will progress) plus full Study package including course costs/leave– AAT then onto ACCA
25 days holidays plus bank holidays
Death in service – 3 x salary
Pension – auto enrolment, on completion of probation period enhanced pension which includes company contribution of 4%
Critical Illness (potentially offered in 2023)
 
START DATE: This role is expected to start by Feb 2023, So this is not suit able for Graduates finishing in the Summer of 2023
